A Counterparty’s noble attempt

Your brain, your heart, your smile, your cooking
Never knew it was you for which I was looking
Was I lost in translation? Or was this lost and found?
Brown is orange
Orange is brown.

Smiling daily; ear to ear
An outlook on life never so clear
Zero gravity — floating — why can’t I touch the ground?
Brown is orange
Orange is brown.

A world without you I cannot fathom
You’ve filled a hole; a titanic chasm
The emptiness, gone — how such a forceful takedown?
Brown is orange
Orange is brown.

What good is Cake if I can’t eat it, too?
Short skirt, long jacket; close my eyes, picture you
I’m the king, you’re my queen — here, take the crown
Brown is orange
Orange is brown.

Time spent without you seems to drag
Its burden more troublesome than internet lag
I give up; send me homeward bound
Brown is orange
Orange is brown

There are no rules to this thing called life
I’d break them all to make you my wife
Soon come? Come soon? No, down the road — down
Brown is orange
Orange is brown.

Ready to embark on a timeless journey
No one can stop us; nothing deters me
Just a big city girl and a boy from a small town
Brown is orange
Orange is brown.

Who knew it possible to find love on that dreaded Hinge?
With who? Brown?
No — The Color Orange.

An ode.
